Job summary

Project Centre in London is seeking an Assistant Bridge Engineer to join our growing Structures team. You will assist with the design, assessment and inspection of bridges and civil structures, producing calculations, reports and drawings to UK standards.

You'll develop practical solutions under guidance, manage your workload to meet project deadlines and progress toward chartered or incorporated status, while benefiting from a hybrid working arrangement and a supportive multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience supporting design, assessment or inspection of UK bridges and civil structures.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, UK design standards and relevant industry codes of practice.
• Knowledge of bridge and civil structure analysis methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The Role

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a motivated engineer who enjoys problem-solving, is eager to learn and thrives in a collaborative environment.

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience supporting the design, assessment or inspection of UK bridges and civil structures.
• Knowledge of structural mechanics and its application to highway structures.
• Understanding of Eurocodes, UK design standards and relevant industry codes of practice.
• Knowledge of bridge and civil structure analysis methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and risk management principles.
• Awareness of sustainability principles within engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience delivering technical engineering tasks and working safely on projects.

The nice to have’s

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MiDAS, TEDDS and SBD software.
• Understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM).
• Experience supporting budget or resource management.
• Experience incorporating sustainable engineering solutions into projects.
