Prison Support Role (Operational Support Grade)

HMP North Sea Camp – £29,432 – His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service.

Overview

An extraordinary day‑to‑day role that supports the running of a busy prison. As an Operational Support Grade (OSG) you will be part of a supportive team carrying out a range of duties from security and searches at the gate to managing deliveries, supervising visitors, and monitoring phone calls and CCTV.

  • Performing desk duties combined with physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and escorting vehicles across the prison grounds
  • Adhering to fixed shift start and finish times and ensuring punctuality for your shift

Qualified for the Role
  • Full, valid UK driving licence (including D1 vehicle category) – or you can rely on transport if the job does not specify a driving requirement.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and common sense for maintaining a safe, efficient prison environment.
  • No formal qualifications required – focus on attitude and competence.
