Job summary

The Scotsman Group in Scotland is seeking an Assistant Banqueting Manager to support the daily operations of the Conference and Banqueting areas and to ensure seamless communication between the operations and sales teams.

You will lead front-of-house service, oversee stock and rotas, and drive cost controls while fostering a collaborative, guest‑focused environment. The ideal candidate holds a valid food safety certificate and a Personal Licence, with experience in events.

Qualifications

• Hold the appropriate food safety certificate.
• Personal Licence Holder.
• Experience in a similar role in Banqueting or Events.
• Great leadership skills and enjoy working as part of a team in a social environment.
• The ability to communicate at all levels.
• A strong commercial awareness.
• Availability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as per business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the Banqueting Manager in carrying out all daily operations of the Conference and Banqueting areas.
• Ensure open communications between the operational team and sales team.
• Ensure guests receive prompt, attentive service at all times.
• Keep front of house areas well presented and ensure maintenance is up-to-date.
• Conduct stock takes and inventory, liaise with guests on complaints as necessary.
• Encourage teamwork, cooperation and a positive attitude.
• Complete daily reports and departmental banking.
• Produce department rotas and manage staffing levels in line with budgeted ratios.
• Ensure costs, wastage, breakages, security and stock control follow company procedures.
• Meet all required standards and procedures of the company.

The Role:

As an Assistant Banqueting Manager, your role will include:

• Supporting the Banqueting Manager in carrying out all daily operations of the Conference and Banqueting areas.
• Ensure there is open communications at all times between the operational team and sales team.
• Ensure that all guests are given prompt, attentive service at all times.
• Ensure that all front of house areas are well presented, and ensure that all maintenance work carried out by the in-house team is up-to-date
• Conduct relevant stock takes and equipment inventory as required ? Liaise with guests and deal with any complaints as necessary
• Encourage teamwork, cooperation, productivity and a positive attitude within the working environment
• Complete all necessary daily reports and departmental banking
• Produce department rotas and ensure that daily staffing levels are in line with business levels and in accordance with budgeted ratios
• Ensure all procedures in regard to costs, wastage, breakages, security, stock control are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure all required standards and procedures of the company are met.

The Person:
