Job summary

Hampton Moore is partnering with a growing real estate department to appoint an Assistant Asset Manager to its Property & Investment team. This role offers broad, hands-on experience from day one and a clear path towards chartership.

You will support a commercial portfolio, conduct inspections, and contribute ideas for income growth and sustainability while learning from experienced managers. Hybrid working and local travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Real estate or business-related degree, or working towards RICS.
• Experience working with businesses, partnerships and external agencies.
• Organised, accurate and confident with financial administration, budgets and IT systems.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder relationship abilities.
• Self-motivated with ability to make decisions with limited supervision.
• Experience reading leases and licences would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of a commercial property portfolio, including rent reviews, leases, licences, wayleaves and easements.
• Conduct inspections and viewings; be the first point of contact for tenants, agents and the public.
• Suggest costed initiatives to improve income and community benefit from the estate.
• Help maintain property data and systems; assist with digital tool upgrades.
• Report to the Property & Investment Manager; learn from senior Asset/Property Managers.
• Travel across the local area for site visits as part of blended working.

Hampton Moore is partnering with growing real estate department who are looking to appoint an Assistant Asset Manager to their Property & Investment team. It is a role for someone early in their property career who wants hands‑on exposure to every part of asset management, real responsibility, and a clear path towards chartership.

The opportunity

• A genuinely broad brief. Support the management of a commercial property portfolio, helping to negotiate and agree rent reviews, sales, leases, licences, wayleaves and easements.
• Out on the estate. Carry out inspections and viewings and act as a first point of contact for tenants, agents and the public.
• Room to contribute ideas. Bring considered challenge on how to improve income and community benefit from the estate, and put forward costed proposals for new initiatives.
• Data and sustainability. Help keep the team's property data and systems in shape, champion the team's move onto new digital tools
• A strong place to learn. Report to the Property & Investment Manager and work alongside experienced Asset and Property Managers, with training and development built into the role.
• Modern ways of working. Blended working, with travel across the local area for site visits.

About you

• A Real Estate or Business-related degree, or working towards RICS
• Experience of working with businesses, partnerships and external agencies

• An excellent communicator who builds good relationships with tenants, agents and colleagues
• Self-motivated and happy to make decisions without constant supervision
• Experience of reading leases and licences, or of local government, would be an advantage

Private sector candidates are actively encouraged. If you are a graduate surveyor, working in practice, or client-side and curious about the public sector, this is a strong way in.

Remuneration: Up to £37,500 + attractive pension. Flexible working is also offered.
