Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting an aspiring Assistant Accountant for a permanent role in Goudhurst, offering a clear path to develop expertise in accounting and finance within a professional setting.

You will assist predominantly Limited Company clients with statutory reporting, prepare financial statements under FRS 102 (and IFRS where required), and handle corporation tax and VAT returns, while supporting outsourced FD clients with management reporting and ad hoc queries.

Qualifications

• Must have strong IT literacy including MS Office, Sage and Xero.
• Audit and financial reporting exposure is desirable.
• Experience in an accountancy practice is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with statutory reporting for predominantly Limited Company clients.
• Prepare financial statements (FRS 102, and IFRS where applicable).
• Prepare corporation tax returns and VAT returns.
• Support outsourced FD clients with management reporting and ad hoc queries.
• Review bookkeeping records for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with training junior team members (AAT trainees).

• Assisting predominantly Limited Company clients with their statutory reporting

• Reviewing bookkeeping records

Profile

• AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualified
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience in an accountancy practice
• Have experience in the preparation of financial statements, corporation tax returns and VAT Returns
• Have excellent IT skills; MS Office, Sage and Xero.
