Keeler Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Accountant in Fakenham to join a well-established finance team. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to support day-to-day accounting tasks and ensure records are accurate.

The ideal candidate holds AAT Level 3 (or equivalent), has a finance background, and is eager to learn. Proficiency in Excel and finance systems, and a proactive, reliable attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day running of the finance function
• Supporting with month-end processes and management accounts
• Preparing and posting journals
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting with purchase and sales ledger processes
• Processing invoices and payments
• Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies
• Assisting with cashflow and other financial reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Providing general support to the wider team as required
• Working closely with the Finance Manager on ad-hoc finance projects and tasks

About the Role

We are working with a well-established organisation based in Fakenham who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a good grounding in finance who is looking to develop their experience and take the next step in their career. Working closely alongside the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function and ensuring the accounts are accurate and up to date.

The ideal candidate will have an AAT Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience, alongside a hardworking and positive attitude. This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, is keen to learn and wants to continue developing their accounting knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day running of the finance function
• Supporting with month-end processes and management accounts

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• AAT Level 3 qualified, or qualified by relevant experience
• Experienced within an accounts or finance environment
• Hardworking, reliable and organised
• Comfortable working to deadlines and managing their own workload
• A good communicator who works well as part of a team
• Keen to learn, develop and broaden their accounting experience
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems
• Proactive and willing to get involved across the wider finance function
