Job summary

Unilever seeks an Asset Care Coordinator at Burton on Trent Factory to lead CMMS management, optimise preventive maintenance and drive reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in engineering maintenance or equivalent
• Recognised apprenticeship or similar qualification
• Experience in FMCG engineering environments
• Strong mechanical/electrical skill set
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance data management

Responsibilities

• Act as site owner and CMMS super-user.
• Maintain asset hierarchy, equipment records, PM plans, work orders and spare parts links.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with planner for full coverage.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity and standardisation in CMMS.
• Develop CMMS dashboards and KPIs for maintenance performance.
• Train teams on CMMS best practices.
• Support CMMS feature implementations and digital tools.
• Analyze breakdown trends and recurring failures.
• Lead root cause analysis for chronic losses.
• Improve PMs and drive corrective actions into maintenance routines.
• Monitor asset health to improve OEE and MTBF.

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to Site Engineering Leader, the role of the Asset Care Coordinator is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the CMMS to ensure an effective asset care programme. The role focuses on improving asset reliability through effective preventive maintenance (PM) strategies, high-quality master data, robust maintenance planning processes, and data-driven continuous improvement.

The role will coordinate maintenance schedules, optimise PM frequencies and task content, support reliability improvement initiatives, and ensure the CMMS provides accurate and actionable information to drive maintenance excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as site owner and super-user for the CMMS (Build App)
• Maintain asset hierarchy, equipment records, preventive maintenance plans, work orders, spare parts links, and associated documentation.
• Work with maintenance planner to ensure full coverage
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and standardisation across the CMMS.
• Drive continuous improvement of CMMS functionality and user adoption.
• Develop reporting dashboards and KPIs to improve maintenance performance.
• Train engineering and operational teams on CMMS best practices.
• Support the implementation of new CMMS features and digital maintenance tools.
• Analyse breakdown trends and recurring failures.
• Lead root cause analysis activities for chronic losses.
• Be able to improve and complete PMs.
• Drive corrective actions into maintenance routines and standards.
• Monitor asset health and recommend strategies to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).

ALL ABOUT YOU

• Recognised Apprenticeship (multi-skilled/cross skilled specific preferable)Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in relevant engineering maintenance field (or equivalent other qualifications relevant to this position
• Experience of working within Engineering in an FMCG environment.
• Good Mechanical/Electrical skill set.
• Strong team player who adopts a continuous improvement approach.
• Experience of CMMS utilisation and development
• Excellentcommunication skills.

In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston, Unilever House in Leatherhead and Graze in Richmond.
