Are you an experienced technician who has experience of assembling battery systems and sub-assemblies? Ideally you come from an automotive background and can demonstrate your hands-on mechanical and electrical skills.
In this role you will work as part of the Allye Production Team producing our energy storage systems. You will be working in a small multifunctional team where you are empowered to improve the way they do things; particularly around quality, cost control, productivity and safety. You will follow and update build work instructions using various types of manual or semi-automated tools, tracking assembly steps using our ERP system.

Responsibilities
- Achieve the daily/annual volume throughput
- Build HV energy storage systems including:
- Sub-assemblies
- Battery pack pre-assembly
- Battery cooling system assembly
- Build of electromechanical sub-assemblies
- Install PCBs and electrical harnesses
- Manual fabrication and modification of components using workshop equipment
- Perform HV battery electrical and mechanical checks and testing
- Investigate, diagnose and repair faults on high voltage battery systems
- Daily health checks, equipment/rig maintenance and fault diagnostics
- Strictly follow HV battery prototype build procedures based on SSOW
- Follow and manage health and safety requirements of the assembly area
- Ensure stations are kept clean and tidy throughout production area
- Develop build process and build work instructions
- Produce parts and material requirements lists for procurement activities
- Complete and maintain all build system documents and ERP system logs
- General HQ assistance, taking delivery of items, stores work, ordering equipment
Qualifications
- Previous manual and automated assembly manufacturing experience
- Experience with HV/LV AC/DC systems operating at 50 V or more
- Experience working with electrical components, PCBs, and wiring looms
- Ability to follow work instructions for component assembly inc. wiring, soldering
- Review build instructions and spot faults or inconsistencies.
- Ability to diagnose, assess and repair or replace faulty components/assemblies
- Proficient and confident with various hand tools and power tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with computer software and basic computer skills
- Self-motivated and a great team player
- Eligible to work in the UK with a valid driving license
A bonus if you have
- Experience working with Automotive or EV systems
- Good mechanical and electrical skills, including fabrication, machining, soldering
- Have hands-on experience of the assembly of high voltage batteries
- Knowledge of battery system technology including cell chemistries, BMS etc.
- Experience with single and 3-phase electrical supply in industrial and residential.
- Knowledge of basic communication protocols including CAN and RS232.
- Forklift training
- Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS)
