Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is seeking an Assembly Technician to join the MRO operations. You will assemble and test single-aisle landing gear components in a collaborative, diverse team, meeting weekly shipset targets and quality standards.

The role includes days, lates and nights shifts with occasional weekend work. Starting salary is £37,241, rising to £39,465 after training, plus a shift premium. Benefits include pension, holiday allowance, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Apprenticeship or Level 3 NVQ required.
  • Experience reading maintenance manuals, drawings and service letters.
  • Ability to use precision measuring and test equipment; basic electrical understanding.

Your role:

As an Assembly Technician, you'll play a critical role in our MRO operations, assembling and testing single aisle family landing gears.

You'll work as part of a diverse team to complete the required quantity of shipsets per week to meet our customer's expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and test Airbus Single Aisle family nose and forestay, and main gears and sidestays, and with quality being at a high level.
  • Continuous improvement on improving the quality and efficiency of both the assembly and test of the units.
  • Deliver a product in line with quality, cost, and delivery.

Candidate skills & requirements

What you'll bring:

  • An Engineering Apprenticeship (preferably gained within the aerospace or manufacturing sector), or a Level 3 NVQ
  • Knowledge of working with and assembling complex mechanical products
  • Experience in reading component maintenance manuals, drawings, engineering layouts and additions to the original design such as Service Bulletins, and Service Letters
  • Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring and test equipment
  • Have an understanding of basic electrical circuitry for fitment and test of harness/switches etc
  • An understanding of Lean Sigma disciplines and 5s principles
