Job summary

Safran is seeking an Assembly Pulse Line Manager to lead production performance, safety, quality and cost delivery in a high‑velocity assembly environment. You will drive continuous improvement, standardisation and Lean practices while building a capable, engaging team culture.

You will own day‑to‑day line performance, manage KPIs, support new programs and future volume, and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to secure readiness and operational excellence across the line.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost targets.

Job description

We are seeking a driven and results-focused Assembly Pulse Line Manager to lead production performance, operational excellence and future manufacturing readiness across a fast-paced assembly environment. This is a highly visible leadership role, responsible for delivering safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives while driving continuous improvement, industrial recovery and team development. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure the production line is equipped to meet current demands and future growth, creating a high-performing culture that enables both people and processes to thrive.

Key responsibilities: Production Performance & Rate Readiness

• Own the day-to-day performance of the Assembly Pulse Line
• Ensure the line is prepared to support planned production rates, new programs, model changes & future volume
• Manage production KPIs

Industrial Recovery

• Establish recovery plans, priorities and ownership
• Lead problem-solving activities
• Resolve issues relating to process, equipment, people, material flow, and production
• Maintain visibility of operational risks & communicate recovery to SLT

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Embed a culture of continuous improvement, standardisation and discipline
• Lead & support Lean Manufacturing and waste-reduction
• Ensure operating procedures, standards and visual management systems are established & maintained

People Leadership & Development

• Provide visible, engaging leadership
• Manage & develop production/team leaders and other personnel
• Ensure appropriate skills, training and competency levels

Future Production Capability

• Support the introduction of new products, processes, technologies and equipment
• Identify future capability, capacity, skills and resource requirements
• Contribute to manufacturing strategy, investment planning and future operating model development
• Ensure lessons learned from current production are incorporated into future manufacturing solutions

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and environmental performance, ensuring all relevant standards and procedures are followed
• Ensure production activities consistently meet required quality standards and customer expectation
• Promote a proactive approach to risk identification, quality improvement and defect prevention
• Ensure compliance, manufacturing standards and relevant regulatory requirements
• Lead by example in creating a safe, respectful and high performance working environment

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a manufacturing, production or assembly leadership environment, preferably within an OEM or complex high-volume manufacturing operation
• Demonstrable experience of leading production performance against challenging Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People objectives
• Experience of managing and developing operational teams, including team leaders or supervisors
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and structured problem solving
• Experience of driving production recovery and resolving complex operational issues
• Demonstrable experience of preparing manufacturing operations for increased production rates or new programme requirements
• Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and influence stakeholders without direct authority
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environments
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and operational discipline
• Relevant degree, HND/HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent professional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations or a related discipline
• Experience of managing an assembly pulse line, production line or takt-driven manufacturing operation
• Experience of capacity planning, line balancing, takt-time optimisation and constraint management
