Job summary

Unipart Manufacturing in Coventry seeks an Assembly Team Leader to supervise high-volume electrification assembly and injection moulding operations. You will drive on-time output, ensure right-first-time quality, and embed lean practices on the shop floor.

You will lead shift teams, promote continuous improvement, and collaborate with Quality, Maintenance and Logistics to meet ambitious goals.

Qualifications

Leadership experience supervising production operators in a fast-paced, demanding manufacturing environment.
Practical experience applying Lean manufacturing, 5S, visual management and continuous improvement tools.
Experience in assembly processes, electrification components, or polymer/injection moulding operations is advantageous.
Strong ability to motivate teams, communicate targets clearly, and coach others.

Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and direct production operators to achieve daily output targets and drive line efficiency.
Maintain production area quality, audit gates, investigate defects, support zero-PPM quality goals.
Uphold Health, Safety and 5S standards, complete risk assessments, and lead investigations.
Coach operators in Lean tools and standardised work, report KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
Conduct shift briefings, manage attendance, and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Adapt to changing priorities and influence project direction as it unfolds.
