Our Leeds facility is a globally recognised manufacturing hub, specialising in the design, manufacture, and assembly of complex, high-performance pump systems. Serving customers across energy, water, and industrial markets, the site offers full end-to-end capability – from 3D design and simulation to final build, testing, and dispatch. As part of a growing and collaborative team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering engineered solutions that support sustainable infrastructure worldwide.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities within the assembly department to meet production targets and quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to ensure on-time delivery of complex pump systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across safety, efficiency, and workflow processes
  • Manage and develop a skilled team of assembly technicians through coaching, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience supervising within a mechanical assembly or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and precision assembly practices
  • Excellent people management skills with a hands-on and proactive approach
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production setting

What we offer you:

  • A competitive basic salary
  • Annual Bonus Scheme
  • 33 days of annual leave
  • Defined contribution pension scheme
  • Confidential support through our Employee Assistance Programmes
  • Access to a wide range of discounts on everyday shopping, entertainment, and lifestyle
  • Opportunity to apply for a Costco membership for exclusive offers
  • Discounted personal car leasing available for you, your family, and friends
  • Long Service Awards to celebrate employee longevity
  • Continuous learning and development through Sulzer Learning Pathways
  • Free, secure onsite parking, including electric charging facilities
  • Onsite, multi-faith prayer room
  • Flexible working hours that allow you to balance your work and personal life
