Job summary

Kinetic plc in St Helens is seeking an Assembly Operative for a permanent role. You will assemble cabinets and panels per technical drawings, using hand tools, and work to production targets in a manufacturing setting.

The position requires experience with assembly, reading drawings, and attention to detail, with the ability to work as part of a team and to strict safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assembling cabinets, panels and components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
• Using hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
• Following assembly instructions, drawings and production specifications.
• Measuring and checking components during the assembly process.
• Ensuring products are assembled correctly and to the required standard.
• Carrying out quality checks and reporting any defects or issues.
• Working to production targets and agreed timescales.
• Safely moving components and completed products as required.
• Reporting equipment faults or problems to the Team Leader or Manager.
• Maintaining good housekeeping within the work area.
• Following all company Health & Safety procedures.
• Working as part of a team to meet daily production requirements.

£24,804 per annum (£12.72 per hour) | Permanent | Monday-Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm, Friday 7:00am-12:30pm

Responsibilities

• Assembling cabinets, panels and components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
• Using hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

• Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing or a similar hands‑on production environment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, diagrams or assembly instructions.
• Experience using hand tools.

• Ability to follow instructions and work to set specifications.
• Ability to work to production targets while maintaining quality.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable and consistent approach to work.

Desirable:

• Experience assembling cabinets, enclosures, panels, frames or similar products.
• Experience working with metal or manufactured components.
• Experience using drills, screwdrivers, spanners, rivet tools or other hand tools.
• Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Important Information

• This is a hands‑on assembly role within a manufacturing environment.
• Candidates should have previous assembly or relevant manufacturing experience and be comfortable using hand tools and working from technical drawings or assembly instructions.

• The position focuses on the physical assembly of cabinets, panels and components within a manufacturing environment.
• The successful candidate must be able to reliably get to the St Helens site for a 7:00am start.
