Job summary

Kinetic plc in Greater Manchester is seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a contract role (minimum 6-12 months, likely longer). Core hours 07:30–16:00, 15:00 on Fridays; overtime paid at 1.5x after 39 hours and at 2x on some blocks. Weekly overtime is available.

You will build, strip and assemble capital machinery, read/interpret mechanical drawings and uphold current H&S standards. A recognised apprenticeship and flexible attitude to working hours are essential.

Greater Manchester, England, North West (commutable from all areas of North Manchester and also Salford, Oldham, Trafford etc.)

Salary

Up to £17.29 per hour + + OT @ T1/2 (£25.94) & T2 (£34.58). Hourly rates will be from £17.29/hr PAYE & £25.94 for hours over 39 hours. Overtime available at time and one half working 39 hours per week. *WEEKLY OVERTIME AVAILABLE*

Core Working Hours

Core hours: 07:30 - 16:00, 15:00 on Friday. Half an hour for lunch.

Key Responsibilities

Key functions of this position include, but are not restricted to, mechanical build, strip and assembly of capital machinery.

Qualifications & Experience

• Time served - recognised apprenticeship.
• Read/understand mechanical assembly drawings.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Continually self-appraise on current and developing H&S Regulations.

Desirable

• Pneumatic, hydraulic & other mechanical systems.
• Working to tight tolerances.
• Installation of bearings and various seals.
