Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking an Assembly Operative in Whitstable to join our client’s growing production team. You will assemble a range of products to required quality standards and within set timescales, following SOPs.

Responsibilities include in-process quality checks, packaging, reading drawings and specifications, and operating machinery as needed. You will work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high attention to detail and safety standards.

Qualifications

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Assembly Operative to join our clients growing production team in Whitstable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a positive attitude to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Purpose of the Role

To assemble a range of company products to the required quality standards and within pre-determined timescales.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Consistent assembly of products to a high-quality standard using SOPs
• Carrying out in-process quality inspections
• Bagging and packaging products in line with documentation
• Reading and understanding drawings, manufacturing instructions, process documentation, and specifications
• Operating relevant machinery, including semi-automated equipment where required
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and company guidelines
• Supporting the wider production team and carrying out other duties as reasonably requested

Person Specification

Essential Qualities & Skills

• Good level of English and Maths, both written and verbal
• Ability to follow written instructions and processes accurately
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good hand dexterity and eye-to-hand coordination
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining high standards
• Able to stay focused and work efficiently to deadlines and targets
• Strong communication skills

Experience

• Previous assembly or manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential as full training may be provided.
