Job summary

Our Client in Stonehouse (GL10) is seeking an Assembler for a 1 year contract starting 1st October. Working hours are 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, 37.5 hours per week, with potential overtime. Pay rate is £15-£20 per hour (PAYE).

The role involves assembling and testing products, reading drawings, performing troubleshooting, and maintaining records in the business system, with adherence to health, safety and lean manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with soldering and related techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and procedures.
• Proficient in testing assembled products and documenting results.
• Attention to 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
• Willingness to complete required safety trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test products and tool assemblies according to drawings and procedures.
• Identify components, select correct tools, and perform rework as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in assemblies and products.
• Create labour and work records in the business system; document results.
• Perform daily 5S activities and participate in lean projects.
• Complete safety trainings including crane, forklift, and electrical topics.

Mission

The Assembler is responsible for assembling and testing products, and for troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Key Functions

• Read and interpret assembly drawings, procedures and follow written and oral instructions.
• Identify components and use pertinent hand tools and rework techniques, operate assembly equipment and tools,
• Accurately assemble oilfield completion products and tool assemblies
• Test assembled products and tool assemblies
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with products and assemblies
• Create labour records for all transactions in the relevant business system
• Document records of work performed in the relevant business system
• Perform daily 5S activities and participate in lean manufacturing projects
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines using written instructions and checklistWear PPE at all times and observe health, safety and environmental policies
• Successfully complete required safety trainings including but not limited to crane, forklift, drugs and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving

Special Knowledge & Skills

• Basic (intermediate level preferred) level of soldering skills including awareness of solder and flux theory, and practical experience of soldering related activities such as tinning, splicing, jenkin spring, turret soldering, crimping, etc
• Select correct tools, solder types and fixtures

Minimum Education

• Minimum high school or equivalent
• Vocational or trade school preferred
