Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a proactive Graduate Cover Supervisor in Chatham, Kent. The role offers daily pay of £100-£120 depending on experience, with ASAP start and full-time long-term supply involvement.

The ideal candidate is a graduate who has worked with young people and wants to gain classroom and behaviour management experience across various year groups and subjects, supporting learning in the absence of teachers.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience through schools, tutoring, sports coaching, mentoring, youth work, or similar settings.
• Confident managing groups of students.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Resilient, adaptable and reliable.
• Genuine interest in progressing into teaching.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Safer recruitment requirements with DBS Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lessons across different year groups and subject areas.
• Follow and deliver prepared lesson plans and resources.
• Maintain positive behaviour and high classroom expectations.
• Support students with their learning and encourage engagement.
• Communicate effectively with teaching and support staff.
• Adapt confidently to different classes and situations.
• Ensure lessons continue smoothly during teacher absence.
