Job summary

Academics is seeking an Aspiring Social Worker/SEN TA for a specialist school in Guildford, Surrey. You will support pupils with SEN and SEMH, work with Therapists and Counsellors, and gain experience toward careers such as Social Worker or SEN Teacher.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, term-time only, with on-site training and CPD provided. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and are expected to obtain an Enhanced DBS check where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in Special Needs education is beneficial.
• Ability to work with children with SEMH, SEN, and learning needs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with learning activities.
• Provide dedicated support to pupils with learning, physical, sensory, or behavioural challenges.
• Build trusted relationships with pupils and support 1:1 and small groups.
• Follow safeguarding guidelines and contribute to a safe classroom.
• Attend staff meetings and complete relevant CPD.
• Able to commute to Guildford.

Job role and responsibilities for a Aspiring Social Worker/SEN TA:
