Job summary

Academics is hiring an Aspiring Social Worker/SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Woking. The role runs Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:30, term time only, PAYE, with a daily rate of £93-£105.

You will support pupils with SEN/SEMH needs, work alongside Therapists and Counsellors, and gain valuable classroom experience to progress toward social work or education roles. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and may need an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with learning, physical, sensory, or behavioural challenges.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with pupils and staff.
• Willingness to attend staff meetings and complete CPD.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with the learning experience.
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Follow safeguarding guidelines in the classroom.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents as required.
• Ensure you can commute to Woking and participate in required CPD.
