Job summary

Wates Group is offering a Site Management (Production) Trainee programme designed to deliver hands-on experience in planning, coordinating and delivering construction projects. You will work on live sites with senior managers and project teams, gaining insight into safety, quality, and stakeholder coordination.

The programme covers site operations, health and safety, project planning and cost awareness, with mentoring and development opportunities to support a future career in construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a predicted or achieved 2:2 or above by Sep 2027.
• Some locations may require a full UK driving license and a degree related to the role.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management and coordination of construction activities on site.
• Promote and uphold health, safety, wellbeing and environmental sustainability.
• Work closely with subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure work is completed safely and in line with project requirements.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients, designers and colleagues across the project team.
• Assist with planning and monitoring project programmes to keep works on schedule and within budget.
• Support quality inspections and site checks to meet required specifications and standards.
• Gain understanding of construction methods, technical processes and sequencing of works.
• Work with commercial teams to understand project costs and controls.
• Contribute to site meetings, progress reporting and project coordination.
• Develop knowledge of digital construction tools and technologies used to improve delivery.
• Build leadership, communication and problem-solving skills on site.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (2:2 or above)
