Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an Academic Intervention Assistant / 1:1 Student Mentor for a high‑performing secondary school in Preston to support KS3/KS4 students from September 2026. You will work with teachers and pastoral leads to deliver targeted mentoring and booster sessions.

Ideal candidates have prior experience with secondary interventions, strong literacy and numeracy, and a university degree or Level 3 TA qualification. DBS Update Service is preferred for a smooth start.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering academic interventions or tutoring to secondary students (11-16).
• Strong literacy and numeracy to support GCSE content.
• DBS Update Service preferred or willingness to process one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured 1:1 mentoring and academic support to pupils.
• Lead small groups (3-6 pupils) in core subjects to accelerate learning.
• Assist GCSE revision strategies, exam practice, and time management.
• Differentiate resources for SEND/SEMH and track progress with feedback to staff.
