Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is sourcing an Academic Intervention Assistant / 1:1 Student Mentor for a high-performing secondary school in Preston, Lancashire. The role supports KS3/KS4 pupils with targeted 1:1 mentoring, small-group interventions, and GCSE revision strategies, delivering sessions 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday during term time.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering academic interventions or 1:1 mentoring to secondary-aged students (11-16).
• Strong literacy and numeracy to support GCSE content.
• DBS check (Update Service) preferred or willingness to process one before September.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured 1:1 academic support and pastoral mentoring.
• Lead small-group interventions (3-6 pupils) in English, Maths, Science.
• Assist GCSE revision strategies, exam practice, time management, and resilience.
• Differentiate resources for pupils with additional needs (SEND/SEMH).
• Track pupil progress and report to teachers and SENCOs.
