Job summary

Amey Ltd in Manchester is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Consulting Project Management team. You will support the Project Manager in delivering and maintaining project management reporting documents, under the direction of senior staff.

The role offers exposure to client-facing projects within transport infrastructure and decarbonisation programmes, with development opportunities and a clear path to take on greater responsibilities as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Understanding of project management principles and best practices, gained through experience.
• Basic commercial awareness.
• Basic understanding of health, safety and welfare regulations.
• Ability to produce reports to a good standard.
• Moving towards supervising junior staff on similar tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing and monitoring project management reporting documents compliant with contract and client requirements.
• Support delivery of weekly project management documents related to financial, resource or time reporting.
• Assist in developing programmes with tasks, resources and costs for service delivery.
• Support cost/fee governance assurance on the account.
• Build relationships with project management professionals for career development.
• Carry out general office duties to ensure smooth operation of the consulting business.

Education

Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or related field
