Amey is seeking a permanent Principal Project Manager to join the Consulting Design team in Newcastle. You will lead the delivery of high-profile multi-disciplinary projects across the North, coordinating teams from York to Newcastle and guiding clients and suppliers.

You will manage budgets, supervise junior staff, and ensure safety and quality standards are met, with flexible working and generous development opportunities within a global infrastructure consultancy.

Qualifications

• Extensive project management experience on multi-disciplinary projects.
• CDM/health and safety knowledge and compliant practices.
• Ability to apply PM theory to complex or ambiguous situations.
• Day-to-day main PM contact for a project when required.
• Strong deliverable preparation, checking and approval skills.
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Excellent commercial awareness and supplier relationships.
• Strong communication and client-facing presentation skills.
• In-depth understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare regulations.
• Professional accreditation or progression towards Incorporated/Chartered status.

Responsabilités

• Lead delivery of multi-disciplinary projects across the region.
• Act as PM team leader; supervise PM teams, managers, clients and suppliers.
• Coordinate cross‑regional teams from the North on high-profile projects.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and client requirements.
• Control budgets and manage costs for project deliverables.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives; attend progress meetings.
• Take on people management responsibilities as required.
• Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.
