Job summary

Connex Education is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Unqualified Teaching Assistants across primary schools in Bridgwater from September 2026. This role offers flexible daily supply work, short-term placements, and longer-term assignments.

You will support teachers, work with pupils to boost participation, and contribute to a positive classroom environment while developing classroom skills and gaining experience in education.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people is essential.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply through Connex Education.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation.
• Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
