Job summary

Astro Education supports a welcoming Salford school recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis. You will work under experienced teachers to support pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing during term time.

This is an excellent chance for graduates aiming to start a career in education, building hands-on classroom experience and professional relationships within schools. Salary ranges from £90 to £120 per day, with weekly pay and ongoing recruitment team support.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or recently graduated.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and committed.
• Patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Confident communicating with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Support pupils with their academic progress and development.
• Help pupils build confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Support pupils who may require additional help with their learning.
• Support reading, writing, maths and other curriculum activities.
• Help prepare and organise classroom resources.
• Support positive behaviour and classroom management.
• Build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
• Encourage pupils to engage positively with their learning.
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teachers.
• Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes and lunchtimes where required.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures
