Job summary

Astro Education in Salford is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school team with an immediate start. You will support learners with communication and language needs, autism and SEMH, helping to implement tailored plans and promote positive behaviour.

This full-time, term-time role runs 8:15am–3:30pm during the school year, with weekly pay and ongoing support from Astro Education’s experienced education team to help you thrive in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with SEN in schools or similar settings.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to manage behaviour and support emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with communication and language difficulties and SEN needs.
• Assist with individual support plans and strategies.
• Support emotional regulation, routines and transitions.
• Create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
