Job summary

Astro Education are partnering with a welcoming school in Salford to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting immediately. You will support teachers, work 1:1 and in small groups, and help pupils with reading, writing and maths while developing classroom confidence and positive learning behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Supporting pupils with their academic progress and development.
  • Helping pupils build confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Supporting pupils who may require additional help with their learning.
  • Supporting reading, writing, maths and other curriculum activities.
  • Helping prepare and organise classroom resources.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and classroom management.
  • Building strong and positive relationships with pupils.
  • Encouraging pupils to engage positively with their learning.
  • Monitoring pupil engagement and providing feedback to teachers.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.

£90 – £120 per day, depending on experience

Astro Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive school in aSalford, who are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

You will work closely with experienced teachers and the wider school team, gaining an insight into day-to-day life in education while supporting pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
