Job summary

Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa in Turners Hill near East Grinstead is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. You will work to achieve 3 Rosette standards for AG’s Restaurant and 2 Rosette for Reflections Restaurant, under the new Executive Chef, Alan White.

You will lead the team, deliver high-quality, locally sourced dishes, and drive consistency while maintaining hygiene and training the team across shifts. This role is 5 shifts per week, 45 hours.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in 2-3 Rosette or Michelin level kitchens.
• Strong technical ability and attention to detail.
• Calm under pressure with strong leadership skills.
• Passion for seasonal, high-quality ingredients.
• Ambition to be part of a team pushing for accolades.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering food to a 3 Rosette standard using fresh local produce and seasonal ingredients.
• Lead and inspire the team in day-to-day service.
• Maintain exceptional standards of hygiene, organisation and consistency.
• Contribute to menu development and innovations.
• Drive, training, develop and coach the team to success.
• Working 5 shifts per week 45 hrs per week
