Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor is seeking a skilled Physical Design Engineer to drive floorplanning, power integrity, and signoff through the entire silicon implementation flow. You will collaborate with design, architecture, verification, and silicon teams to deliver high-quality, manufacturable silicon.

The role emphasizes advancing AI-assisted design practices, automation, and robust flows. Strong English communication is essential for cross-functional collaboration within a global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in electronics or a related field with chip implementation exposure.
• Experience using Synopsys and Cadence signoff flows in physical design.
• Proficient scripting in TCL, Perl or Python and exposure to AI-assisted flows.

Responsibilities

• Lead floorplanning, macro placement, and power area definition.
• Develop robust power delivery networks and CTS-based timing closure.
• Perform place-and-route, timing closure, and physical verification.
• Analyze IR-drop and electromigration for reliability, with optimization.
• Drive ECOs and late-stage design fixes while meeting schedules.
• Support tape-out activities and contribute to design flow automation.
