Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a registered technician to join the ASU, developing aseptic services for patients and staff across the Trust and local providers. You will aseptically dispense injections and parental nutrition, perform final checks, and contribute to CAPA and KPI reporting.

This role requires GMP knowledge, excellent IT and communication skills, and a commitment to training colleagues. A supportive pharmacy team awaits.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician or equivalent registration is essential.
• Aseptics experience and GMP knowledge are required.
• Experience training other staff is desirable.
• Strong IT and communication skills are essential.
• Experience in a hospital environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• To perform aseptic dispensing and final checks on injections and infusions.
• To generate worksheets and labels, ensuring medicines are charged correctly.
• To assist in in-process checks and ensure GMP compliance.
• To assist with training of pharmacy staff and other staff as required.
• To collate statistics and workload data for the ASU and related reports.
• To maintain stock levels and manage outsourcing items for ASU.
• To attend meetings, update procedures and support CAPA initiatives.
