Bright Star Talent Limited is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-19 with ASD in a specialist school environment. You will provide consistent learning support throughout the day, aiding communication, behaviour, and independence.

The role requires calmness, empathy, and the ability to adapt to each student's needs, including collaboration with teachers and the SEN team. DBS is required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting students with ASD.
  • Experience working with young people aged 11-19.
  • Enhanced DBS required.
  • Good understanding of SEN and different learning needs.
  • Patient and consistent approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable and committed.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students aged 11-19 with ASD.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Helping students access lessons and take part in activities.
  • Supporting communication and social development.
  • Helping students develop greater independence and confidence.
  • Using a calm and consistent approach when supporting behaviour.
  • Following individual support plans and strategies put in place by the school.
  • Working closely with teachers and other members of the SEN team.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Supporting students throughout the school day, including break and lunchtime.
