Job summary

Midfield Primary School Tree House is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our Specialist Provision. This permanent, term-time role supports pupils with ASD in a caring primary environment.

Contract is permanent, 12 hours per week over 39 weeks per year (Thu-Fri 08:50–15:20). Start date January 2027. The successful candidate will relate well to children and adults, work well in a team, and have NVQ3 in childcare or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Educated to NVQ3 in childcare or equivalent.
• Ability to relate well to children and adults.
• Ability to work constructively as part of a team.
• Experience of working with children in a primary school setting.
• Experience of working with SEN pupils.
• Experience as a play worker or working in an Early Years setting.
• A good understanding of the complexities of ASD (however training will be provided).
• Experience working with students with speech and language needs.
