Job summary

Atomic Weapons Establishment is recruiting an Asbestos Management Practitioner for the Radiochemistry Group. The role is fully onsite near RG7 4PR, with a 9-day fortnight, and extensive responsibilities for surveys, records, and regulatory compliance.

You will maintain asbestos data, support CAR Reg 4, and help develop the Asbestos Management Plan while advancing towards analyst qualifications. Applicants should have P402/P405 and/or RSPH Level 3, with strong attention to detail and clear

Qualifications

• Experience with surveys, inspections, or compliance systems is beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and ability to keep records current
• Good written and verbal communication with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Complete required training, qualifications, and site assessments to demonstrate technical competence
• Carry out asbestos surveys by inspecting buildings, structures, and equipment, sampling and assessing asbestos-containing materials
• Maintain accurate asbestos records updating inspection data and the Asbestos Data Management System
• Support CAR Reg 4 compliance by applying management controls and updating risk scores
• Maintain a register of ACMs and input into the Asbestos Management Plan
• Schedule and document routine ACM inspections, typically every 12 months
• Ensure personnel managing asbestos have completed appropriate training
• Work within health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements
• Opportunity to train as a fully qualified asbestos analyst
