Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Asbestos Analyst based in Birchwood, Warrington to support asbestos identification and soil analysis. You will generate certificates of analysis and liaise with project managers to deliver timely results, maintaining safety and quality culture in the laboratory.

The role requires BOHS P401 and experience with asbestos analysis, with cross-training across the business during lower throughput periods. Flexibility and meticulous reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• BOHS P401 qualification required; experience in asbestos bulk ID and/or soil analysis.
• Strong knowledge of HSG248 and analytical techniques; excellent report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyse asbestos bulk & soil samples using PLM.
• Identify asbestos fibre types per HSG248 guidance.
• Record and report analytical findings accurately.
• Process samples within agreed turnaround times.
• Ensure compliance with UKAS standards and lab procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe laboratory environment.
• Produce accurate reports and certificates of analysis.
• Support general lab and office duties; contribute to quality culture.
