Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is supporting a long-established asbestos consultancy for an experienced Asbestos Analyst to join their team covering East Yorkshire and the surrounding region.

You will carry out the full range of asbestos analytical duties across commercial, industrial, and public sector sites, ensuring compliance with current legislation, HSG248, and UKAS procedures. The role offers realistic workloads and long-term stability.

Qualifications

• BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications are essential.
• BOHS P402 qualification desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience as an Asbestos Analyst.
• Strong understanding of HSG248, HSG264, and current asbestos legislation.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Strong IT skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out the full range of asbestos analytical duties.
• Undertaking air monitoring, leak testing, reassurance testing, and four-stage clearances in accordance with HSG248.
• Working across commercial, industrial, and public sector properties.
• Liaising professionally with removal contractors, site managers, and clients.
• Conducting bulk asbestos sampling where required.
• Producing accurate and compliant documentation in line with HSG248 and HSG264.
• Supporting survey teams with Management and Refurbishment & Demolition surveys where required.
• Managing your own workload with autonomy while maintaining high technical standards.

THE ROLE

As an Asbestos Analyst, you will be responsible for carrying out the full range of asbestos analytical duties across commercial, industrial, and public sector sites throughout East Yorkshire and the surrounding region.

Working independently and alongside experienced colleagues, you will deliver high-quality analytical services while ensuring full compliance with current legislation, HSE guidance, and UKAS procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carrying out the full range of asbestos analytical duties
• Undertaking air monitoring, leak testing, reassurance testing, and four-stage clearances in accordance with HSG248
• Working across commercial, industrial, and public sector properties
