Leigh Academy Ebbsfleet is seeking to recruit a suitably experienced Art, Textiles, and Food Technology Technician to join a well-motivated and successful team, ideal for someone looking for a term-time position with plenty of scope for development. We require applicants to have a minimum qualification of an A-Level (or equivalent) in a relevant creative or culinary field, and/or appropriate industry or practical experience. The department at Leigh Academy Ebbsfleet is highly successful, experienced, and collaborative in their approach to work, which is a fantastic environment for a junior technician through to a highly experienced technician keen to be part of a vibrant team.

Our successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the use and maintenance of practical resources, workshop tools, kitchen equipment, and specialist facilities, while providing assistance and advice to support the practical needs of the Art, Textiles, and Food Technology curricula. You will prepare materials, organise tools, measure out ingredients, and set up specialist equipment to ensure the correct resources are available for practical lessons. Additionally, you will deliver equipment and supplies to classrooms, as well as collect, check, clean, and return items to stores to ensure everything is safely, hygienically, and appropriately stored.

This is a stand‑alone position, so it would be beneficial for the appointed candidate to have previous experience working both independently and as part of a larger team. Being highly ambitious and having the ability to use your initiative to get tasks done is a necessity in this role!

This is a part‑time role working 3 days per week, from 8:00am to 4:00pm (including a 30-minute lunch break). Two of the days will be Monday and Tuesday, but the academy can offer flexibility on the third day to suit the successful candidate.

It's an exciting time to join Leigh Academy Ebbsfleet following our recent celebration of the school's best‑ever GCSE results.

Be part of our dedicated team driving academic excellence and helping every pupil reach their full potential!
