Are you a passionate and creative art teacher looking to inspire the next generation of artists?
Do you want to work in an outstanding specialist provision where children are at the heart of everything you do?
Our school is an outstanding school looking for a Teacher of Art to join our team for a maternity cover. We are a specialist setting where children from Year 3 to Post 16 with mild to moderate learning difficulties and additional needs, such as ASD, cerebral palsy, hemiplegia, and medical vulnerabilities can access the national curriculum and qualification pathways in a safe, secure, and friendly environment.
We are looking for an Art subject specialist and would welcome applications from Early Career Teachers. You will have sufficient proven evidence of developing teaching practice and be able to demonstrate that you can balance academic expectations with the challenge of meeting the needs of SEND students. You will be passionate about making a difference and preparing students to be socially and economically engaged in the future.
You will work with the SEND, Pastoral and Therapy teams to assimilate therapeutic support, a proactive approach to health and wellbeing, social skills, PSHE and protective behaviours into the curriculum and across school life. All teachers are Form Tutors, and we have regular multi-disciplinary meetings around students with specialist input, training and support from the Therapy team. We invest significantly in staff professional development through a weekly extended CPD session delivered by a range of internal and external colleagues to share and develop pedagogy, SEND expertise and therapeutic strategies. Undershaw is definitely an environment where colleagues will learn.
Our School can offer you:
The opportunity to be part of a committed team in an Outstanding school
