Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an Art and Digital Media Teacher for a Birmingham academy. The role is long-term from November with potential for permanency for the right candidate. You will contribute to developing the Art curriculum, including GCSE Art and Photography, with opportunities across iMedia and KS3/DT.

You will plan, assess and monitor student progress to maximise outcomes. The school values creative, collaborative teaching and safeguarding; it offers well-resourced creative subjects

Qualifications

• QTS with a relevant Art, Digital Media or related specialism.
• Experience teaching Art within a secondary school environment.
• Knowledge of GCSE Art and Photography, with AQA course knowledge desirable.
• Skills or experience within iMedia and/or Design and Technology desirable.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
• A creative, collaborative approach with safeguarding and raising student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Art and Digital Media lessons to KS3/KS4.
• Contribute to development of the Art curriculum including GCSE/Photography.
• Plan, assess and monitor student progress to maximise achievement.
• Explore opportunities across iMedia and KS3 Design & Technology.

Art and Digital Media Teacher

Location: Birmingham. Start Date: November. Salary: £33,916 - £46,352.

The school is looking to appoint an Art and Digital Media Teacher on a long-term basis from November, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right Art and Digital Media Teacher. The successful teacher will contribute to the development of the Art curriculum, including AQA GCSE Art and Photography, with opportunities across iMedia and Key Stage 3 / KS3 Design and Technology, while planning, assessing and monitoring students to maximise their progress.

The successful Art and Digital Media Teacher will have:

• QTS with a relevant Art, Digital Media or related specialism
• Experience teaching Art within a secondary school environment
• Knowledge of GCSE Art and Photography, with AQA course knowledge desirable
• Skills or experience within iMedia and/or Design and Technology desirable
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management
