Job summary

Edintervention is seeking an Art Teacher to lead post-16 art and design for learners with SEND. Plan and deliver practical sessions, developing vocational and employability skills within a supportive, therapeutic framework.

You will shape the curriculum, build the accredited offer and influence the creative pathway, bringing your own ideas to a growing provision and collaborating with the Strategic Post-16 Lead and staff team.

Qualifications

• Qualified teachers or experienced artists with a teaching qualification, especially in SEND/SEMH.
• Experience in specialist SEND, SEMH, therapeutic, alternative or vocational settings.
• Able to plan and teach art and design to post-16 learners with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach and assess art and design sessions for small groups and individuals.
• Develop art curriculum with schemes of work and learner portfolios.
• Grow the accredited offer and progression into further study or employment.
• Adapt resources for diverse SEND/SEMH learners.
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing through relational, trauma-informed practice.
• Use feedback to identify gaps and track progress.
• Direct and support learning support staff in the classroom.
• Build relationships with learners, families and external agencies.
