Outcomes First Group's Abbey Gardens is a brand-new specialist school for young people aged 11-16 with SEMH needs. Opened in June 2026, it offers a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student is supported to thrive, building confidence, resilience and essential life skills alongside the National Curriculum adapted to individual needs.

As an Art, Creative Arts & DT Teacher you will deliver high-quality lessons in small classes, plan personalised learning, collaborate with support staff

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching Art, Creative Arts, DT or related subjects.
• Creative and innovative teaching approach.
• Able to engage students with diverse learning needs.
• Driving licence required.

Job description

As an Art, Creative Arts & DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging and personalised learning to students within a supportive specialist setting, helping them develop creativity, confidence, independence and essential life skills. Working with small classes and individual learners, you'll plan and deliver high-quality lessons, monitor progress, and create stimulating learning environments tailored to each student's needs. You'll play a key role in developing and coordinating your subject area, implementing individual education and behaviour plans, and supporting students to achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. Working closely with support staff, families and multidisciplinary colleagues, you'll ensure a consistent approach to education, wellbeing and behaviour management, enabling students to develop self-regulation and reach their full potential. As part of our committed team, you'll contribute to school improvement initiatives, maintain high standards of safeguarding and teaching practice, and help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where every student can thrive.

What you will be doing
