Job summary

Optima Health is recruiting a GMC-registered Doctor to join the new Armed Forces Recruitment Service (AFRS) launching in 2027. In this role you will conduct comprehensive one-to-one clinical assessments and ECG interpretation for entry to all three services, under MOD standards and JSP 950 guidelines.

Based across multiple UK locations including Glasgow, Edinburgh and London, you will support the Tri-Service process, review medical records, coordinate with specialists, and participate in

Qualifications

• GMC-registered doctor with current licence to practise.
• Experience in general medical examinations and reviewing clinical histories.
• Understanding of occupational health principles.
• Excellent communication, clinical judgement and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-service medical assessments (PSMA) per MOD guidelines.
• Assess candidates' fitness for entry into Phase 1 training.
• Review medical histories and evidence; refer complex cases as needed.
• Make clear, evidence-based clinical decisions on fitness.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
