Job summary

International Procurement and Logistics Limited is seeking an Area Trainer to join our global operations team, driving the creation and delivery of training that supports regulatory and safety compliance across sites.

You will write and update training materials, plan engaging sessions for line leaders and staff, maintain records and collaborate with senior leadership to align with the operational plan while driving KPI performance.

Qualifications

• Production/Operations experience on site.
• Basic understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
• Internal Health & Safety Level 1 course or equivalent.
• Willingness to undertake train-the-trainer qualification if not held.
• Experience coaching/mentoring colleagues of mixed abilities.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proven track record of delivering/exceeding KPIs.
• Desire to improve training effectiveness with new approaches.
• Strong problem solving abilities.
• Ability to build good working relationships internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain and evolve training material and SOPs to meet business needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging training for site colleagues, including Line Leader, Hygiene, Health & Safety, Compliance/BRC food safety and SOP Cleaning cards.
• Provide learners with policies, SOPs and regulations to clarify expectations and safety.
• Maintain training database and log all training within defined timescales.
• Monitor learner progress via feedback, observations and line-manager discussions.
• Collaborate with Operations SLT and Production Leaders to align training with operational plans.
• Ensure KPIs are delivered consistently.
• Keep up to date with new processes and developments to improve service.
• Induct and train new colleagues with timely follow-up training.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Area Trainer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion + turnover.

Working within the Operations team, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and effectively delivering training material whilst using a wide range of training methods to meet the needs of differing learning styles.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Write, maintain, update and continuously evolve our training material and standard operating procedures to constantly meet the needs of our business.


• Plan and deliver effective and engaging training to our site colleagues, focusing on regulatory and mandatory training. This includes providing the following training: Line Leader, Hygiene, Health & Safety, Compliance/BRC food safety and SOP Cleaning cards


• Provide learners with all relevant information e.g. policies, SOPs and regulations to clarify what is expected from them and to ensure their safety


• Keep up to date with all administration work and maintenance of the training database within the defined timescales, ensuring all training is logged correctly


• Monitor and review the progress of each learner through feedback questionnaires, observations and discussions with their line managers


• Work collaboratively with the Operations Senior Leadership team and Production Leaders team to ensure all training delivered is in line with the on-going operational plan and all training needs are fulfilled


• Ensure key performance measures are delivered consistently


• Maintain own expertise by keeping up to date with new processes, key developments, updates and changes to deliver an effective and efficient service to colleagues and stakeholders


• Induct and train all new colleagues into the business ensuring follow up training is completed within the timeframe set

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience of working within Operations/Factory/Production site ideally within a Production/ Operations/ Factory as an Area Trainer or equivalent


• Basic understanding of Health and Safety procedures in the workplace


• Internal or BSC Health & Safety Level 1 Course


• Train the trainer qualification or equivalent (Not required at point of employment but person must be willing to undertake this training)


• Experience of coaching/Mentoring colleagues with mixed abilities’


• Working knowledge of using MS Word, Excel & Power point


• Proven track record of consistently delivering/exceeding KPIs


• A desire to constantly improve training effectiveness by developing new approaches and ideas


• Well-developed problem solving abilities


• Able to develop good working relationships with a variety of colleagues both internally and externally
