Network Rail are looking for an Area Support Analyst to support the Team Manager in directing a team of payroll professionals delivering an efficient, effective, and professional payroll service to Network Rail. This role involves advising, supporting, and resolving payroll-related escalations, ensuring quality service and consistency.
Contract: Permanent
This is a full time (35hrs) hybrid role based in Manchester with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
About the role (External)
Key responsibilities:
- Support with the day-to-day complex in-house payroll processing function and bureau payroll processing activities.
- Support with delivery of key performance objectives and targets to monitor accurate payments to Network Rail employees.
- Guide the payroll team to deliver payroll activity remaining fully compliant with relevant statutory, regulatory legislation and corporate activities, shared services and network rail procedures.
- Control payroll processing in line with agreed processing schedules delivering a timely and accurate payroll service meeting agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI) / Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
- Support with the delivery of payroll controls, checks and audits in line with governance framework and support the Senior Accounting Office (SAO) initiatives to maintain payroll accuracy.
- Pro-actively initiate continuous improvements within the payroll functionality, whilst assessing any impact on the payroll service evaluating good practice and establishing robust processes.
- Support with managing the workflow and utilisation of improved systems to distribute the allocation of work throughout the team.
- Develop and continually improve relations with key stakeholders, define and embed a customer centric culture where all team members consider the impact on customers and their future requirements.

- ORACLE eBusiness Suite or similar experience
- Experience of working to a legislative framework and within agreed timescales
- Experience of auditing and compliance to a process
