Job description

Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST)

£39,876 Total Salary (including Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payment*)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Maintenance Electrician to join our team working with a major UK supermarket client. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical, mechanical, and catering equipment across retail outlets, including regular store visits for reactive work, PPMs, and minor repairs as requested by the customer.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales, ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed.
2. Perform reactive and scheduled maintenance on catering and bakery equipment.
3. Conduct emergency lighting and fire alarm testing and repairs.
4. Carry out general repairs and maintenance at customer sites as designated by management.
5. Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery, promptly advising the Line Manager with recommendations for replacement.

Qualifications & Experience:

• NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/maintenance.
• City and Guilds 18th Edition.
• AM2 / 2391 qualification.
• *An additional £1,500 competency payment will be added upon successful completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment, provided during the probation period through two one-week training blocks.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Full driving license.
• Experience with PDA systems.
• Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g., commercial catering/bakery.
• Experience performing PPM and reactive maintenance in a retail environment.
