Job summary

BardWood Support Services is recruiting Area Support Officers for site-based security roles in Reading. You will be responsible for maintaining safety and a welcoming environment for staff and visitors, with a proactive public-facing presence and ability to handle conflicts as part of a team.

Role requires SIA license, a 5-year verifiable work history, a full driving license, and prior experience in customer-facing environments.

Qualifications

• SIA license required and maintained.
• 5-year checkable work/career history.
• Full driving license and access to own transport.
• Experience in customer-facing environments.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt.
• Flexible attitude and responsive to client needs.
• Competence with security/operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide relief cover and support to locations within a region.
• Deliver quality service in line with site guidance and instructions.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Provide a proactive presence and initial reception guidance.
• Resolve conflicts when on client premises as part of a team.
• Ensure public comply with site rules and guidance.
• Act with initiative in threatening situations.
• Maintain a smart appearance and visible security presence.
• Administer basic first aid when required (training provided).
• Complete legible incident reports and maintain safety standards.
