Position: Area Sales Representative - NORTH
Summary: This position is responsible for the market development and customer growth of our POPCAKE COMMERCIAL & ASHWOOD’S business within an assigned territory, through sales prospecting, presentations, and equipment placement.
The role is remote-based and reports directly to our Head of Sales – UK/Ireland.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Sales & Revenue Generation: Identify opportunities, develop target accounts, establish customer contacts, and deliver sales presentations & demonstrations to key decision makers (e.g., General Managers, Executive Chefs, F&B Directors, Purchasing Managers).
- Closing sales: Secure equipment placements, coordinate commissioning with Customer Service, and work with chefs and F&B operators to maximize product usage and sales.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and grow revenue with existing customers.
- Achieve sales targets: Meet quarterly and annual sales objectives and KPIs.
- Territory Management: Plan and execute sales strategies, visit customers regularly, manage sales pipeline, forecast sales, and report to management.
- Account Management: Handle customer queries, offer tailored solutions, and increase revenue within existing accounts.
- Market Research: Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and customer demands; provide feedback to management.
- Administration and Reporting: Keep accurate records of interactions, sales activities, and performance metrics in CRM.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with internal teams, participate in meetings, training, and conferences.
- Other: Engage with typical customers in hospitality, hotel management, airline lounges, education, healthcare, and foodservice sectors. Use networking (e.g., LinkedIn) to develop relationships and drive business development.
Experience:
- Proven sales experience in a field or territory-based role.
- Experience in HoReCa sales is advantageous.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Strong understanding of sales techniques and CRM management.
Compensation:
£32,000 - £35,000 base salary, with OTE of approximately £45,000 (performance-based bonus), plus workplace pension contributions.
Additional requirements:
- 20 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Mileage paid; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and web-based presentation tools.
- Experience with Zoho CRM or similar platforms.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze data, work independently, and handle rejection constructively.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
- Valid UK driving license and own vehicle (mileage paid).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
