Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking an Area Sales Manager Glass to drive field sales of a manufactured range of glass products across Scotland, the North East and Cumbria. You will target fabricators and installers, building relationships and developing new business while managing a portfolio of around 250 customers.

The role covers a £8m area with a 70% account management focus and 30% new business development, offering a remuneration of £45,000-£50,000 plus bonus.

Qualifications

• Must have construction field sales experience in an associated industry.
• Ideally from a glass, glazing, windows, fenestration, profiles, glass processing, glass machinery background.
• If not glazing related you must have sold into fabricators or metalwork companies, joinery companies, window manufacturers, trade window companies, furniture manufacturers, shop-fitters or interior fit-out companies.

Responsibilities

• Sell a manufactured range of glass products to construction, glazing and architectural markets.
• Target fabricators and installers; not direct contractors on site.
• Manage circa 250 customers across Scotland, North East & Cumbria; 70% account management, 30% new business.
• Handle an area turnover of approximately £8m.

The role of the Area Sales Manager Glass Products will involve:

• Field sales position selling a manufactured range of glass products such as: flat glass, processed glass and toughened glass
• Selling into the construction, glazing and architectural markers
• Targeting various fabricators and installers (not selling directly to the contractors that carry out the project work one stage removed from that!)
• Typically selling to metalwork companies, joinery companies, window manufacturers, trade window companies, furniture manufacturers, shop-fitters, interior fit-out companies and a smaller element of dealing with merchants who will cut the flat glass down to size for window and door fabricators and small glazing retailers
• Circa 250 customers on the area
• 70% account management 30% new business development
• Responisible for an area with a turnover of approx. £8m

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Glass Products experience with:
