Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing food supplier for an Area Sales Manager covering South Wales, South West and surrounding areas. This home-based, field sales role requires travelling daily to visit customers and develop accounts across the territory.

You’ll manage around 100 accounts while driving new business growth, selling food products to farm shops, farms, garden centres, convenience stores and other independent retailers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a field-based sales role (essential).
• Strong track record of winning new business and managing existing accounts.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• A self-motivated, organised and driven approach to sales.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop an established portfolio of around 100 customers.
• Generate new business through cold calling, appointments and visits.
• Build strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
• Conduct regular face-to-face customer visits across the territory.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to closing the sale.
• Work towards and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
• Represent the business professionally whilst delivering outstanding customer service.

Ideal Location: Bristol, Gloucester, Newport, Cardiff, Hereford or surrounding areas
Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum + Company Car + Bonus (OTE £42,000)

Are you an experienced Area Sales Manager who enjoys building long-term customer relationships whilst winning new business?

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing food supplier for an Area Sales Representative to manage and develop customers across South Wales, the South West and surrounding areas.

This is a home-based, field sales position where you'll be travelling daily to visit customers, develop existing accounts and identify new business opportunities across your territory.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing an established customer base of approximately 100 accounts while also driving new business growth throughout your territory.

The area will cover South Wales, Bristol, the M5 corridor, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas, offering a varied territory with plenty of opportunities to develop existing accounts and win new business.

You’ll be selling a range of food products into:

• Farm shops
• Farms
• Garden centres
• Convenience stores
• Promotional goods companies
• Other independent retail businesses

This is a true 360 sales role where you’ll take ownership of the full sales process, from identifying opportunities and prospecting through to closing business and developing long-term customer relationships.

• Represent the business professionally whilst delivering outstanding customer service.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll have:

• Proven experience within a field-based sales role (essential), such as Field Sales Manager, Area Sales Executive or Business Development Manager.
• Experience managing the full 360 sales cycle.
• A strong track record of winning new business alongside managing existing accounts.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• A self-motivated, organised and driven approach to sales.
• The ability to work independently from home whilst managing your own diary.
• A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

Whilst not essential, experience within any of the following would be highly advantageous:

• FMCG sales
• Food wholesale or food distribution
• Supplying into farm shops, farms, garden centres or convenience stores
• Retail supply
• Foodservice or related industries

Candidates from other sectors with a strong field sales background and a proven record of developing new business are also encouraged to apply.
