BardWood Support Services are seeking an Area Relief Officer to provide site-based security across Coventry, Rugby, Leamington Spa, and surrounding areas. The role entails day shifts with a strong emphasis on safety, customer interaction, and professional presence on client premises.

Applicants must hold an SIA licence, a full UK driving licence, and demonstrate a 5-year career history. This position offers transfer to the client after 12 weeks with several employee benefits and security

About the role

Title – Area Relief Officer

Pay Rate – £13.45 per hour

Location – Coventry, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Nuneation

Shift Timings – Day shifts - Monday-Saturday: 08:45-17:15, ARO to cover Coventry, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Nuneation

You will be working in a site-based role within the public sector, where officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of both staff and visitors.

Your main responsibilities may include

• Trained to provide relief cover and support to a portfolio of locations within a geographical region.
• All the tasks and activities as per the site operational guidance and Assignment Instructions. Provide quality service delivery.
• Manage and maintain a safe environment for the client’s staff and customers.
• Provide a proactive presence in all public facing areas as activity requires. This will include providing a positive initial reception for clients and directional guidance.
• Working directly with the customer as part of a team to provide conflict resolution at our client’s premises where there is potential for conflict.
• Working closely with your fellow colleagues to ensure members of the public comply with site rules and guidance.
• Use common sense and initiative immediately involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
• To have a smart appearance, always be alert and visible whilst commanding a security presence within the customer premises
• Be able to administer First Aid assistance if a member of public or client’s staff was to be suddenly taken unwell (training will be provided)
• Complete legible incident report writing if and when an incident arises.
• Work to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following

• SIA License.
• Full UK driving license.
• 5-year checkable work/career history.
• Full driving license and access to own transport is essential.
• Prior experience of working in a customer‑facing environment and dealing directly with staff/customers.
• Physically fit to undertake given tasks.
• Possess the ability to work under pressure.
• Flexible attitude and the ability to adapt.
